BUTLER: Dixie L. Marsh, 68, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly, Monday February 10, 2014 following a courageous fight with breast cancer.
The daughter of Robert and Ann (Combs) Young, Dixie was born in Wooster on October 12, 1945. As a young lady walking down the Wooster city street, Dixie's attention was drawn to a young man whistling for her attention. On May, 14, 1962 Dixie married Paul Marsh.
Dixie worked for the former Frey Scientific, but her love, commitment, and drive was always focused on being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. With a heart of gold, Dixie was loyal and loving to her family. Always available for support, encouragement and truthful insight, Dixie's love was endless.
She loved attending local high school sporting events…mainly to cheer and encourage her grandchildren. Together Dixie and Paul enjoyed going to auctions and antiquing.
Blessed with a tender heart, Dixie loved animals, especially her shih tzu Coco.
Dixie was a member of Jelloway United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Paul Marsh of Butler; children David (Marty) Marsh of Ashland, Shelia (Scot) Butterbaugh of Butler, Paula (Matt) Davis of Fredericktown, and Bob Marsh of Butler (Julie Trifiletti); grandchildren Nick, Alexis, Megan, Brooke, Taylor, Matheuw, and Cornelia; great grandchildren Landon, Logan, Daisy, Storm and Stone; sisters Alice West of Toledo and Norma of Oklahoma; uncle Hanse Young, family Leroy and Linda Boulton and Jenny Hupp.
Along with her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her grandson Drew Troxel.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating the life of Dixie L. Marsh will be held Saturday at 11 am. Pastor Ken Kinley will officiate. Burial will follow in Bunkerhill Cemetery.
