MANSFIELD: Donald L. Fulk, 82, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness.
Donald was born July 3, 1930 in Richland Co. the son of the late Walter Scott and Mabel Ruth (Thompson) Fulk. He was a graduate of Union High School in Epworth, Ohio and attended art school. Donald proudly served his country in the Reserve of the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and married Mary Alice Gilliom Fulk on September 25, 1965. He was employed for forty years at Schantz Pipe Organ in Orville and attended Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church on Cook Road. Donald enjoyed art and music, loved to read, and played the organ in a lot of churches around Ohio.
Along with his wife, Mary, Donald is survived by two children, Betty Jean (Robert) Burley of Vermilion and Ted Scott (Helena Sunhede) Fulk of Orebro', Sweden; six grandchildren, Justin Yoder, Kylee Fulk, Mathew Burley, Marek Sunhede, Miles Sunhede, and Saga Sunhede; three step-grandchildren, David Burley, Sarah Boone, and John Burley; five step great-grandchildren; six siblings, Glenn (Evelyn) Fulk of Rowsburg, Herbert (Peg) Fulk of Ashland, Harold (Shirley) Fulk of Mansfield, Joan Remy of Pavonia, Norma (Charles) Ritter of Pavonia, and Lester (Melinda) Fulk of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Billy Remy; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Margaret and Nick Miu.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 and also one hour prior to the funeral service at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral service with full military honors performed by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Puglia officiating. Burial will follow in Lantz Cemetery.
