SHELBY: Donald E. Loveless, age 91, longtime resident of Shelby died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Elmcroft Assisted Living Center where he resided.
Born April 26, 1922 in Colfax, Indiana to Benjamin Clifford and Clara (Northcut) Loveless he grew up in Indiana moving to Shelby in 1950. A veteran of the US Army he served in the Red Bull Division 5th Army during WWII.
Mr. Loveless worked for Shelby Lumber and owned and operated Loveless Millwork until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and cards, watching basketball and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Becky) Loveless of Shelby and Gary (Sherry) Loveless of Wadsworth, Ohio; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, one sister, Betty Ratliff of Lizton, Indiana; his step-children and their families, Ron Simon, Nancy House, Marjorie Parrish, and Becky Butler, nieces, nephew and other relatives.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Loveless, second wife, Mabel Simon Loveless, his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Diane Loveless; brothers, Floyd, Cecil and Raymond and sisters, Kathryn, Mildred and Elsie.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby with burial in Oakland Cemetery.Friends may call the funeral home Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Hospice of North Central Ohio and Elmcroft Assisted Living Center.
