LOUDONVILLE: Ernest L. Carpenter, 63, of Loudonville, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Nov. 21, 2012 in Samaritan Regional Health Center, Ashland. Ernie was born Jan. 26, 1946 in Mansfield and was the son of the late Gerald and Ruth (Heller) Carpenter. He was a 1968 graduate of Loudonville High School and a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He had lived in the Loudonville area most of his life and was a retired 20-year employee of RexRoth Company of Wooster and had previously worked at Rockwell International in Columbus. He was a member of Loudon Post #257 American Legion and the American Legion Riders. He enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, Helen T. "Boston" (Foley) Carpenter whom he married Feb. 17, 1995; 2 sons, Josh Carpenter of Mt. Gilead and Steven Foley of Mansfield; 1 daughter, Kristine Daush of Loudonville; 8 grandchildren: Tiffany, Steven, Taylor, Michael Brandon, Aryan, Harley, Trent, and Preston; and 2 sisters, Donna McKenzie of Virginia and Teresa Hunter of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Rusty McKenzie; 1 brother, Gary Carpenter; and 1 sister, Sandy Young.
Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 26 from 5-7 PM in BYERLY-LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE with military honors conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars at 6:45 PM. Online condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.Byerly-Lindsey.com.
