Howard Anthony Myers, Sr.

MANSFIELD: Howard Anthony Myers, Sr., 95, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, while in the care of Crystal Care Center.

Howard was born September 14, 1918 in Dellslow, West Virginia and was the son of the late William McKinley and Velva (Garrison) Myers. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and later retired from NASA as an electrician. He was a life member of VFW 9943. Howard was an avid amateur radio operator and enjoyed playing cards.

Howard is survived by three children, Howard Anthony (Suzanne) Myers, Jr., Maxine Louise (Don) Gregg, and William Alan (Teresa) Myers, all of Mansfield; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Eleanor Nay Myers, in 1998; one son, Robert Aaron Myers; and three sisters, Virginia, Grace, and Sylvia.

Private services were held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD. Military honors were performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail in the Veteran's Section of Mansfield Cemetery.
