Jackie L. Whicker Sr.

SHELBY: Jackie L. Whicker Sr., 73, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at his residence, following a lengthy illness.

Jackie was born on March 8, 1940, in Winchester, IN to Talmage and Harriett Puckett Holiday. He was a Veteran, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by eight children, Brandi (Danny) Gipson, Anthony Whicker, William (Clarissa) Whicker, and Jackie (Debbie) Whicker Jr, all of Mansfield, Sabrina (Joel) Hanover-Perez, Trina (Norman) Fitzgerral, and Vincent Whicker all of CA, and Lisa White of IN; twenty-three grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda Padgett of IN.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons; and his brother, Ronald Holiday.

Calling hours will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Timothy Hall officiating. Burial will be in Springmill Cemetery with full military honors performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD.
