MANSFIELD: Joseph L. Reindl, 62, of Mansfield, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 9, 2013 at the Ohio State University Hospitals. He was born February 7, 1951, in Mansfield to the late James C. and Dorothy (Heckman) Reindl.
He graduated from St. Peter's Catholic High School in 1969. Joe was the fifth-generation owner and operator of Reindl Spring Service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served as Past Commander of American Legion Post #16. Joe was a member of Buckeye Military Vehicle Collector Club, Ohio Motor Pool and 40 et 8 Club.
He is survived by his wife, Kris (Switzer) Reindl; a daughter, Kristi Reindl of Mansfield; a son, Joseph C. (Lori) Reindl of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Talan, Kassidy and Holden; a sister, Mary Ann (Tom) Oatney of Centerville; three nieces, Cindy (Chris) Speer, Leigh Ann (Paul) Mooring and Moriah Daugherty; one nephew, Daniel Gentile; three great nephews; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mel and Mary Ann Switzer; one brother-in-law, Joe Switzer; and two sisters-in-law, Toni (Dwayne) Daugherty and Eva (Rick) Heckert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
Friends and family may visit from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. and 40 et 8 Services will also be held during calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be recited Friday, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 W. First St. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthur G. James Cancer Research Hospital or Nationwide Children's Hospital.
