Lewis Michel "Mike" Wadlington

MANSFIELD: Lewis Michel "Mike" Wadlington, 54, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in Ohio State University Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mike was born Tuesday, October 30, 1956 to Lewis M. and Barbara J. Staples Wadlington in Mansfield, and lived in Mansfied all his life. Mike was currently enrolled in the Ohio State University pursuing a degree in Social Services. Mike was always willing to lend a helping hand and was in the process of pursing a career aimed at helping others based on his life experiences. Mike received journeyman status in machine repair from General Motors and was a certified diesel mechanic from Diesel Tech in Cleveland, OH. Mike was an avid musician and enjoyed various motor sports and related activities.

To know Mike was to love Mike. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and never failed to put a smile on your face. He loved his family and was a good, true friend. Mike especially loved spending time with his five grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Radiah (Jerod) Fuller; parents, Lewis and Barbara Wadlington, Mansfield; two sisters Tamara (Brad) Eyster and Rome "Rommi" Wadlington both of Louisville, Kentucky; and one brother Mark (Leyna) Wadlington, San Jose, California; and five grandchildren, Raheem, Rashawn and Jamari Clark, Mekhi and Ayana Wadlington, nieces Brittany Lawson, Pharris Eggleton, Jamie Eyster; and nephew Miles Wadlington, along with a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.

A special "Thank You" to the ICU professionals at the Ohio State University Medical Center, University Hospital East, Columbus, for outstanding care in his final days.

Friends may call Monday after 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Services where family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Clifton Chandler offficiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
