Luther C. Hampton

ONTARIO: Luther C. Hampton, 86, of Ontario, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born June 28, 1926 in Elizabethton, Tennessee he was the son of Luther F. and Ethel Mae (Mottern) Hampton. A veteran of the United States Navy, he retired from General Motors after 40 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church where he sang with church choir and had also sung with The Master Singers and The Fun Center Chordsmen. He also enjoyed being Santa Claus.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy A. (Keller) Hampton; three daughters, Patricia (Ron) Terry of Pulaski, TN, Greta (Randy) Riddle of Morristown, TN and Judy Lee Hampton of Fairlawn, OH; a son, John (Patti) Spangler of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Sue Shoemaker of Missouri; special nieces and nephews along with many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Christine Cardwell; and an infant brother, Parkis Hampton.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at First Christian Church, Third and Bowman Street, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Sharon Kiesel. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., at the church on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church or the Fun Center Chordsmen.
