Marion Stuart Humphreys

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA: Went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 2, 2012 with her family by her bedside.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Art; her three beloved daughters and their families: Ann (Harry) Smeltzer and son, Joe of Findlay Township, Betsy (Bill) Stewart and their children, Ryan, Erin, Jeff, and Bradley of Cary, NC, and Lynn Humphreys and son Bowman of Alameda, CA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Stuart of Wilmington, DE; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stuart; her brother, Robert Stuart; and her sister, Barbara Stuart Greenwood.

Marion was born and raised in Riverton, NJ, graduated from Moorestown, NJ high school and obtained a BA from the College of Wooster where she and Art met. She was an elementary school teacher in Levittown, now Willingboro, NJ and later in the Mansfield, OH elementary schools. She and her family lived in Cincinnati, OH, Mansfield, OH and have resided in Upper St. Clair, PA for the last 26 years. The family enjoyed summers at their cottage at Van Buren Point, NY on Lake Erie, where she loved to tend her flower gardens and particularly enjoyed the 4th of July parade with her family participating for many years. Over her adult years she enjoyed antiquing, playing bridge, bowling, gardening, and caring for her pet dogs and cat. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Upper St. Clair where she belonged to the Abigail Circle. She was a member of the South Hills College Club. She enjoyed the River City Brass concerts and the Town Hall South Lecture Series for the past 25 years. She will be missed by her husband, family, and friends.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Animal Friends or the Endowment fund at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. 724-941-3211. Friends welcome at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 15317, Wednesday 6-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 6-9 PM. A Memorial Service will be held Friday 11 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2040 Washington Road, Upper St. Clair.
