Nora Taylor

MANSFIELD: Nora Taylor, 78, of Mansfield, passed away late Sunday evening, March 2, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born January 9, 1936, in Grahn, Kentucky to the late John and Ellie (Caudill) Blevins.

Nora devoted her life to her family, always putting their needs before her own. She was a great cook and spoiled her family with her many homemade dishes. Nora was gracious and giving to everyone and touched so many lives throughout the years. She was a strong woman, surviving breast cancer and was an inspiration to those around her. Nora looked forward to the Blevins Thanksgiving and Taylor Reunion each year, celebrating the love of her family. She retired as manager of Derenberger's Restaurant where she made many lasting friendships in the 40 years she worked there.

Nora enjoyed playing darts, cards-especially Euchre and poker, ballroom dancing, reading, and shopping. She was a member of the V.F.W. and Amvets Ladies Auxiliaries.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Taylor; daughter, Debbie (David) Steele of Mansfield; two sons, William Cramer (Tracey Harrington) and Rich Cramer, both of Mansfield; two step daughters, Annette Gandert and Starla Taylor, both of Mansfield; a step son, Bob Cramer of Mansfield; 11 grandchildren, Danny Rasnic (Cara VanSickle), Tiffany Simms, Mandy Ruckman, Emily Jeffries, Will Gandert, Cody Cramer, Devin Cramer, Trenton Cramer, Makenna Cramer, David Steele, and Dustin Steele; five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Preston, Arie, Jacob and Xavier; a brother, James (Gail) Blevins of TN; a sister, Sue (Roger) Gilbert of MI; childhood friend and sister-in-law, Jan Jones; and many special nieces, nephews and other dear relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield.
