Patrick R. Linn

MANSFIELD: Patrick R. Linn, 70, of Mansfield, OH died early Thursday morning, December 12, 2013 at his home after battling cancer.

Born on March 17, 1943 to Wilbur Linn and Naomi (Croskey) Linn Norton, he was a lifelong resident of Mansfield. He worked and retired from Caldwell and Bloor Medical Supply Company. Prior to working at Caldwell, he served in the Vietnam War as an Army clerk typist. He became fluent in Russian while studying Russian Literature at The Ohio State University. He was an avid reader of anything strange and different, from Victorian to biographies, if it was in a book, he read it. His personal collection was well into the hundreds. Along with his love of books was his love of music. He had a collection of music that ran the gamut of jazz, big band, and 60's. His favorite artist was Stevie Ray Vaughn. Patrick was brilliant, caring, humorous, and above all, loved his family.

Surviving are cousins, Nance (Linn) and Lyle Lefever, Jeanette (Linn) and Bob Beech, Carolyn (Fenn) and George Leaf, and Carol (Croskey) and Walter Brandt. A special thanks to all of his friends and helpers who have cared for him during this trying time: Jon VanArsdell, Ken Duska, Mary Stanley, the Fisher family, Amanda Seif, Sabrina Lefever, and the Gonzales family.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Lyman Norton; aunts and uncles, George and Lorna Linn and Bill and Gladys Fenn; and cousins, David Linn, Dick Fenn, and Christopher Beech.
