MANSFIELD: Ronald J. Rahall 81, of Mansfield, lost his courageous battle to cancer on Monday, April 7, 2014. He was surrounded by his beautiful family and favorite Frank Sinatra music.

A U.S Navy veteran, Ronald served from 1950 to 1953 in the Naval Reserves, and 2 years of active duty, much aboard the USS Hassayampa. A patriot at heart, he was proud of his military service.

He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church where he served as an usher since 1970 and also sang in the choir. Ronald retired from General Motors as a Tool and Die Maker in 1993.

He enjoyed all sports and was an avid golfer. He had 2 "Holes in One" at Twin Lakes and Valley View Golf Courses.

He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Merrell on February 9, 1952, and they recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as a true friend to many.

Along with his loving and dedicated wife Carol Rahall of Mansfield, he is survived by his 3 sons, Michael (Susan) of Milford, Steven of Mansfield, Charles (Tracy) of Ft. Wayne, IN and 2 daughters, Lorri (Don) Krance of Poquoson, VA and Debra Lape (Mike Griesbach) of Mansfield. 11 Grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Lunsford, Mark, Annie, Justin (Theresa), Chris (Heather Estes), Alexandra, Rachal (Zak) Hansen, Hollie (Chuck) Bradley, Heather (Rick) Kellner, Stacey (Aaron) Huskey and Adam Lape. 9 Great-Grandchildren, 3 brothers, James (Helen), Philip and Robert (Sandy), sister, Mary and several nieces and nephews.
