GALION: Rosie L. Foos, 78, of Galion, died unexpectedly Monday, December 2, 2013 at home after an extended illness.
Born March 10, 1935 in Nash County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Atlas David and Bessie Alice (Moore) Lancaster. She was preceded in death on December 10, 2007 by her husband, David E. Foos whom she married on December 30, 1970 and was previously married to Rudolph Boykin who preceded her in 1967.
Rosie was a member of the Galion Women of the Moose Chapter 177 and General Motors Retirees 549. She loved going to garage sales and helping friends in need. She worked for the former North Electric as a cable assembler and then for American Greeting Cards a display assembler.
She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Peggy and Mark Sutton, Deborah Greene and Julia Browning all of Galion: one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Robin Boykin of Prescott, AZ; two stepsons and spouses, James and Pat Foos and Michael and Sandy Foos; five grandsons, Luke Sutton, Zachariah Boykin, David Greene, Tyler Greene and Cody Browning; two great grandchildren, Ashlyn Browning and Henry Greene; one sister, six brothers and her beloved dog and companion, Casey.
In addition to her parents and spouses she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Free Methodist Church, 683 Portland Way North, Galion, Ohio 44833 with Rev. Paul Walter officiating and guests will receive the family immediately following the service at 10:15 a.m. Rosie has given the gift of anatomical donation to The Ohio State University.
