Scott Christopher Dennison

MANSFIELD: Scott Christopher Dennison was born August 24, 1963 to Thomas and Saundra "Sonny" Dennison in Mansfield, Ohio.

Scott, alongside his family endured a long courageous battle with cancer. The struggle ended peacefully on July 22, 2013. Although the 2 year battle was difficult, the journey was filled with amazing love , joy, laughter, as well as tears. Scott surrendered his life to the One who gave it to him.

He was surrounded by his devoted wife and children who are committed to seeing him again with the return of Jesus Christ. Revelation 21:4 says " He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever." This promise is ever so encouraging as we mourn this great loss.

Scott graduated from Madison High School in 1981. He attended the Ohio State University where he received a bachelors degree in business. He worked as a Service Agent at Weekley's in Butler before his illness. He attended the Mansfield Seventh Day Adventist Church. Scott was an avid Ohio State and Dallas Cowboy fan, often officiating from his recliner. He was extremely proud of his children. It brought him great joy to watch Dalton and Dylan participate in their sports activities. Scott attended every game he could as his health would permit. He was also very proud of his daughter Erica's academic achievements and her dream of becoming a nurse. Scott was meticulous about his home and landscaping. He thoroughly enjoyed sweeper marks in his carpet and perfectly mowed grass. Scott was extremely proud of his loving family who will miss him very much.

Scott is survived by his dear wife of 17 years, Margie; daughter, Erica (along with her fiancé Cody Hawkins (who recently asked Scott for permission to marry her); sons, Dalton, Dylan; step-son, Zachariah Vance; grandson, Brayden Vance; brother, Tim Dennison; step-brothers, Robert Reid, Gerald (Susan) Reid ; step-sisters, Jane (Joey) Eagleston, Susie Shafer; niece, Brooke Dennison; step-father, Robert Reid; and grandmother, Edna Dennison. Scott will also be dearly missed by the entire Moritz family. He was loved by Tom and Carol Moritz as if he was their own.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Dennison; mother, Sonny Reid; grandfather, Joseph Dennison; grandparents, Ruth and Bernard Weiss; and niece, Maddie Moritz.

Calling hours will be at the Mansfield Seventh-Day Adventist Church 1040 W. Cook Rd. Mansfield, Ohio on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 10:30-1:30. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 with the graveside burial at Mansfield Cemetery immediately following the service. Pastor Edward Marton will be officiating the service.

The family has requested donations be made to the Med Central Hospice program or Grace Place ministries through the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Scott Dennison.
