Stanley D. Pfeifer

BELLVILLE: Stanley D. Pfeifer, 78 of Bellville went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday evening, May 9, 2014 at his home.

Stanley was born on June 15, 1935 to the late W.A. and Anna May (Berry) Pfeifer.

He was a graduate of Lexington High in 1953. Following high school, he continued to work on the family farm until he joined the U.S. Army. Stanley served two years in the service where he spent time in Germany. After his enlistment, he married Ruby Zehner (his jewel) on his birthday in 1958. They would have been married 56 years this year.

Known as the man with the talking hat, Stanley never met a stranger. His wish was to be home to see his farm and John Deere tractors. Farming was his passion, and he would have loved to have been able to make hay one more time.

A man of faith, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Shelby. Stanley's favorite hymn was "Amazing Grace" and favorite scripture verse was John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me."

He is survived by his six children; sons, Tom (Sandy) Pfeifer of Bellville, Tim (Julie) Pfeifer of Bellville; daughters, Nancy Davidson of Ashland, Ruth Ann (Tony) Chirico of Lexington, Sue Pfeifer of Ashland, and Penny (Scott) Oney of Greenwich; grandchildren, Ben (Vicki) Davidson of Ashland, Sam (Nicole) Davidson of Ashland, Jon Davidson of U.S. Air Force, Italy, Rob (Christina) Pfeifer of Bellville, Ryan Pfeifer of Bellville, Felicia and Nicholas Chirico of Lexington, Jeremy (Terrah) Pfeifer of Canal Fulton, Kortni Pfeifer of Bellville, and Mya Oney of Greenwich; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Nola) Pfeifer of Lexington and sister-in-law, Carolee Pfeifer of Texas.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Willis Pfeifer.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tueday, May 13, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd., Ontario.
