Stanley W. "Stan" Bright Obituary
Stanley "Stan" W. Bright

LOUDONVILLE: Stanley "Stan" W. Bright age 65 departed this life on Sunday August 3rd, 2014 at his home, with his family at his bedside. He had fought a courageous battle for three years and four months against acute myeloid leukemia.

Stan was born March 12, 1949 in Ashland, Ohio to George R. and Clara (Benner) Bright.

He graduated in 1968 from Mapleton High School. Shortly after graduation he was drafted into the United States Army. He served proudly during the Vietnam War and was trained as a helicopter mechanic.

March 13th 1971 he married the women that he would love for the rest of his life, Bonnie R. (Lindenmeyer) Bright. Stan and Bonnie were blessed with two children, Jacob and Laura.

Stan sold cars for 30 years in Mansfield, Ohio with his buddies Don Harris and Steve Freer. He was a true outdoorsman and shared that love with his family. Stan was a silversmith, a painter, a builder of rocking horses for grandchildren and he built his own home. He had a work ethic that inspired us. In addition to all of that, he made the best biscuits and sausage gravy you've ever eaten.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie; son Jacob (Kathryn) Bright of Delaware, Ohio, and their children Joel, Colin, Jacob II, and Luke; daughter Laura (Michael) Strong of Mount Vernon, Ohio and their children Stanley, Samuel, Lily and Grace.

A celebration of Stan's life will take place at Mohican Manor in Loudonville, Ohio on Saturday August 16th at 1:00 PM. The Loudonville American Legion Post #257 and the Perrysville VFW post #8586 will also present Military Honors following the celebration of life service at the Mohican Manor.
