MANSFIELD: Tom Morgan, 74, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 while in the care of the Hospice House of Ashland.
Tom was born November 27, 1938 in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Reds and Edna Morgan. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Suez Crisis. He was a chemical engineer, having retired from Rhodia Chemical in Baltimore, MD, after over 33 years of service. On November 9, 1960, he married Linda Munyan. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, crocheting, rafting, fixing anything, and listening to Bluegrass Music.
Along with his wife of over 52 years, Linda Morgan, Tom is survived by one daughter, Angela Morgan of Mansfield; one grandson, Christopher (Melanie) Pursley; and one great-grandson, Hunter "Clem" Pursley.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas Walter Morgan; Bob Munyan, Alma Ruskey, and Lorraine Bonsuk, who he accepted as his family.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the funeral home with Brother Joseph Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
