MANSFIELD: William T. McIntyre, longtime Mansfield resident, passed away comfortably with his family on Monday evening. He was 63.
Bill was born March 15, 1950 to Robert Keller and Nan (Travis) McIntyre in Akron. He was graduated from Firestone High School in 1968. Bill then attended Bowling Green State University and was graduated with a business degree in 1972. While attending BGSU, Bill was a member of the honors fraternity and Beta Theta Pi. He was also a 1975 graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. After passing the bar exam, Bill moved to Mansfield and began his long legal career at Brown, Bemiller, Murray and McIntyre.
Bill was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He could be found most Sunday afternoons with his loyal dog, Star, at Richland Fish and Game. He also enjoyed being eternally disappointed by Cleveland Sports.
Bill was an active member of the community. He was involved with many organizations during his years in Mansfield; these include (but are not limited to): The Mansfield Symphony, The Hermits Club, Rotary, The Bar Association, The Town Roast, and The Police Review Board. Bill assisted and solely coached many youth sports teams in town. He and his dear friend Jeff Molyet coached baseball for the Police Athletic League for many years.
Above all else, Bill adored his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Myra McIntyre of Mansfield; his daughter, and favorite comedy partner, Amy McIntyre of Perrysburg; son, and favorite golf partner, Andrew McIntyre of Mansfield; his beloved sister and brother-in-law, Nan & Hugh Morgan of Cleveland; his dear nephews, Robert (Chantal) Morgan of Cleveland, Peter (Laura) Morgan of Cleveland, and Heath Morgan of New York City; his four treasured great-nieces and nephews; and his supportive brother-in-law, Scott Conlan.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Nan McIntyre.
A private memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held at the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where The Rev. Joseph Ashby will officiate. The family will receive friends 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Richland Carrousel Park, 75 N Main Street in Mansfield, and all are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are preferred to either the Richland Carrousel Park or The Rehab Center and may be made at the funeral home.
