MANSFIELD: William H. Tither, 71, of Mansfield, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the home of his son, Ben, in Mansfield. Born December 17, 1941 in Bucyrus, Ohio, he was the son of Russell and Helen (Larcomb) Tither.
He was a graduate of Lexington High School and attended Mt. Union College. A veteran of the United States Army Reserves, he retired from L.M. Berry in Anchorage, Alaska where he was a division manager. Following retirement, he moved to Somerset, Kentucky and prior to coming back to Mansfield, he was living in Lanham, Maryland where he was a caregiver to his mom's sister, Jean White. He was a member of the United States Shooting Association and the NRA and enjoyed guns, target practice with clay pigeons, boating and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He is survived by a son, Ben W. Tither of Mansfield; a sister, Marrianne (Michael) Russo of Scarborough, Maine; a niece, Christine McKinney of New Market, New Hampshire; and a nephew, Michael Russo of Burlington, Vermont. He was preceded in death by his parents.
