ALICE F. DALBEY Obituary
Alice F. Dalbey Died April 29, 2014, as a result of myelodysplasia, a form of blood cancer. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Homer Dalbey, and brother Joseph Foulk. She was born in Benton, Illinois, in 1927. She and her husband came to California in 1968. Her husband is a retired professor from San Francisco State University. She wrote more than 50 non-fiction articles for periodicals such as the New York Times and Chevron USA. She was educated at Indiana University, the University of Illinois, and the University of California Berkeley. She also was a special student at UCLA and Northwestern Univ. Her work experience included systems analyst for IBM in Chicago, and for the American Library Association as an advisor to public libraries in 27 states on books on American history. She also was Assistant Dean of Students at Oregon State University, and was editor for Oregon's Agricultural Progress. While living in San Rafael she was a librarian at both Dominican College and the College of Marin. At her request there will be no funeral or memorial service.
