H.J. (Jay) Haralson, Jr. Died on January 27th, 2013 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family. Jay was born on February 14th, 1931 in Wellington, Texas to H.J. and Lola (Ricketts) Haralson. Jay worked as a plumber for 36 years, many as a member of Plumber's Local 38. The last decade of his working life was spent at UCSF Medical Center. A veteran of the Korean War, Jay served in the Air Force and was stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base, which is where he met his wife, Barbara. Jay was an avid sportsman, enjoying golf, fishing, bowling, and hunting. He was a huge sports fan, holding 49er season tickets for many years. He was a member of the Loch Lomond Yacht Club, Indian Valley Golf Club, and the Sirs Branch 6. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Canziani Haralson, his daughters Cathy and Karen Haralson, sons-in-law Casey Jones and Peter Raasch, and his brother Bob (Jo) Haralson of Texas. He also leaves grandchildren Amelia and Liam Richardson, Cheyenne and Brooklyn Haralson-Jones, and great-grandchildren Emmet and Hanalee Richardson, sisters-in-laws RuNell Haralson and Bea Canziani, many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends and neighbors. Jay was predeceased by his parents, H.J. and Lola, brother Walter Haralson, infant daughter, Mary, and brother-in-law Robert Canziani. Services will be private.
