Lino Paul Stefani May 4, 1948 ~ Feb. 3, 2013 Passed from this earth in Grants Pass, Oregon after a brief battle with cancer, he was 64. A native of Marin, born in San Rafael. He is survived by his 100 year old mother, Angie, his two brothers, Gino and Michael (Myrna), his uncle, Leo DelGrande and two cousins, David DelGrande and Bob Guelfi. Paul enlisted in the Army in September 1966 at the age of 18 and was a decorated combat infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles) Rangers in Vietnam where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Silver Star. After serving for three years in the Army, he returned to Marin where he joined the Marin County Sheriff's Dept. He was a bailiff and then he was assigned to the Marin Major Crimes Task Force until an on duty injury caused his retirement. For the past five years, he lived in Grants Pass, Oregon across the street from his brother, Gino. Paul was very proud of his Italian heritage and loved its cuisine. He will be remembered by those whose life he touched by his sense of humor and his willingness to help others with anything. His presence will be sorely missed by his loving family and friends. Donations in his name may be made to Hospice of Grants Pass or the Grants Pass Humane Society.
