Philip Thomas Hoehn Jr. Obituary
Philip Thomas Hoehn, Jr. Phil Hoehn Jr., born September 30th, 1952, passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2014 at his home in Laguna Niguel, CA. Born at Children's Hospital in San Francisco, Phil grew up in Marin County, graduated from UC Berkeley with BS Degree in Business and received a Masters Degree in Business from Pepperdine University. Like his grandfather, Phil entered the professional world in the steel business, where he spent the majority of his successful 40 year career. Ultimately, this path led to his most recent position as General Sales Manager at Vest, Inc., located in Los Angeles. Phil's demeanor, personally and professionally, was consistently positive and upbeat, often punctuated by his booming voice and warm, optimistic greeting. Phil had an ability to make an immediate connection, combining fact with well-timed humor or anecdotal reference, (such as his unique ability to recall obscure college sport nicknames or "to the moment" weather patterns virtually anywhere in the country). He loved people, and instinctively knew how to make someone feel better about themselves for having interacted with him. Phil was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue, daughter Lyndsey (Chris), sons, Philip III and Eric, his parents, Hope and Phil, his two sisters, Lisa (Kevin) and Heidi, and his brother Brooks (Beth). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family, colleagues and friends. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held on January 17th at 11:00 AM at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, tribute gifts can be made in memory of Phil Hoehn Jr. to the UCLA Brain Cancer Research Fund at giving.ucla.edu/brain cancerresearch.
