MARSHALL — Funeral services for Thomas Dwight Armstrong, 63, of Marshall, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the chapel of Downs Funeral Home, with Bro. Ron Segers officiating. Interment will follow in Waldrop Cemetery in Beckville, Texas. A time of visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. today, March 29, 2013, at Downs Funeral Home. Tommy passed away March 26, 2013, in Longview.
Thomas Dwight Armstrong was born October 31, 1949, in Marshall, to Christine Waldrop and J.C. Armstrong. Tommy was a graduate of Marshall High School. Tommy served his country in the U.S. Army and was presented the Purple Heart
in 1969. He was a pipeline welder for a number of years. Tommy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Tommy is survived by his sister, Carolyn Neely of Keithville, La.; brothers, G.E. "Judge" Armstrong and Jerry "Tap" Armstrong, both of Marshall; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his "children", dog, Pee Wee and cat, Doodlebug.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister, Geneva Armstrong.
Pallbearers will be Wes Armstrong, David Armstrong, Jason Armstrong, Tim Harris, Kipper Glaze and Alex Green.
