MENOMONEE FALLS - Carroll "Butch" L. Shelley Sr., 71, found peace May 14, 2014 with his beloved wife by his side.

Born in Milwaukee, December 25, 1942, the son of Leon and Alma Shelley (Hildebrandt) he spent his younger years growing up in Marshfield and Loyal, attending Loyal Schools.

In his early years he spent his time working various jobs until joining the United States Army in 1959. He was later honorably discharged and moved to Menomonee Falls, where he met his wife, Diane and started working at Milsco for the next 45 years.

Butch had a passion for sports and was a huge Packers and Brewers fan. He enjoyed going to games with friends and family. He cherished spending time with loved ones and could make anybody smile at any given time. His laugh, jokes and pranks will be dearly missed by all.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 28 years, Diane Shelley; his dear children, Cara (Pat) Vasa, Carroll (Hal) Shelley Jr., Corey Shelley, Crystal Burns, Cernie Vasa, and Denise (Chris) Harthun. 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves, dear brothers, Erland (Janice) Shelley, Duwayne Shelley Sr., and dear sister, Jackie (Mark) Shelley-King, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Alma (Hildebrandt) Shelley, his sisters, Annette "Buzzy" (Don) Simon, Cydell "Sugar" (Rich) Boushon, brother, Merlin "Sonny" (Wanda) Shelley, sister-in-law, Janice, brother-in-law, Don Simon, children, Chawn Shelley and Dean Harthun, and grandchildren, Amanda, Michael and Justin.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 19, 2014, at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls, from 10 a.m. until noon, with Services at Noon, with Pastor Mark Krueger officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Lannon, WI.
