Luchterhand, Ione J.
Ione J. Luchterhand, 90, a long-time Marshfield resident, passed to her new life in Christ on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her home in Peoria, Arizona.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, at Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield, with the Rev. Tricia Turner officiating. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery.
Ione was born on May 19, 1923, in Unity, WI, to William and Nellie Morgan. She graduated from Unity High School and Central State Teacher's College in Stevens Point. Ione taught school until her marriage. She then farmed with her husband. She later worked for many years as a nursing assistant at the Marshfield Convalescent Center.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Ione was a very loving wife, mother, and mother-in-law who took pride in being a homemaker, always keeping an immaculate home and productive garden. She was an excellent cook, and her apple pies, parker house rolls, and date-filled cookies were second to none. She was known for her gracious thank you notes.

Kate--Judy--(Michael) Rouleau of Phoenix, AZ; her sister-in-law, Margie Sternitzky of Marshfield; two nieces, Jeannette (Murial) Hughes of Valdosta, GA; Diane (Tony) Wolf of Chili, WI; and three nephews, Jerry (Kathy) Sternitzky of Green Bay, WI, Terry Sternitzky of Marshfield, and Larry (Tammy) Sternitzky of Stratford, WI, and their families, as well as cousins, and friends.
