Joyce Lorraine Chapman Weir passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at House of the Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of service at church on Saturday. Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at River Falls, Wisconsin.

Joyce Lorraine Chapman Weir was born August 31, 1920 to John Jr. and Myrtle (Megorden) Chapman in River Falls, Wisconsin. She grew up in River Falls where she graduated from high school and attended River Falls State Teachers College now University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the University of Minnesota. After college she became employed by the U.S. Engineers and worked in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and St. Paul, Minnesota.

On May 1, 1945 she was married to Donald R. Weir by the Reverend Fred Stever at the Mizpah Congregational Church in Hopkins, Minnesota. They lived in Onamia, Minnesota and Aitkin, Minnesota and spent winters in Arizona.

In 1949 they moved to Marshfield, Wisconsin where they owned and operated Weir Oil Co. Joyce worked in their offices doing the book work.

Joyce was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she played the pipe organ for many years. She loved music of all kinds and played piano and pipe organ. Joyce was very active in Eastern Star and held memberships in Everett Chapter in Marshfield, Wisconsin and Kinnickinnick Chapter in River Falls, Wisconsin where she held a life membership. She was also active in Job's Daughters where she served on the Guardian Council. She was organist for many years for Everett Chapter in Marshfield.

Joyce is survived by her nephews and nieces: Larry (Paula) Chapman of Madison, Wisconsin and their children, Tom (Wandy) Chapman of Shorewood, Wisconsin, and their children, Bonny (Mark) Chapman Zimonick of Green Bay, Wisconsin and their children, Julie (Gerard) Farkas of Anchorage, Alaska and their children, Beth (Marc) Chapman Cramer of Portland, Oregon and their children, and sister-in-law, Grace Chapman of Appleton, Wisconsin; Carole (Bill) Tate of Milan, New Mexico and their children, Don R. (Faye) Owen of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin and their children, Wendy (Claire) Dusek of Roberts, Wisconsin and their children, and sister in law, Dorothy Owen of River Falls, Wisconsin.

She is further survived by her close cousins: Bernice Wolf, Margaret Leemhuis, Bob Lovell, Edgar Peirce, Jean Dodge, Don Chapman, and Jack Postweiler.

She is predeceased by her husband, Don, her parents, and her brother, Chuck Chapman.
