Reigel, Robert J.

Robert J. Reigel, 81 of Marshfield died peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the House of The Dove in Marshfield.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield with Fr. Savarimthu Selvalaj officiating. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery in Bakerville.

Visitations will be from 4-8pm Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home and again on Thursday at the church from 9:30am until service time. There will be a combined rosary service at 6:30pm Wednesday by the Parish and Knights of Columbus at the funeral home.

Bob was born on May 30, 1932 in town of Lincoln to William and Marcella (Schmitt) Reigel. He attended St. Mary's School in Bakerville.

He was united in marriage to Kathleen H. Nikolay on June 23, 1956 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Rozellville.

Bob worked at Wilbert Vault Company prior to his employment at the Wisconsin Gas Company from where he retired after 33 years. While at the gas company he enjoyed helping on his farm in Richfield Township, which he purchased in 1956 and farmed until his illness. He was a volunteer fire fighter for Richfield Township. Bob loved to hunt and travel throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico. His favorite pastime was story telling.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, three sons Randy (Sue) Reigel and Darrell (Jane) Reigel both of Marshfield, Scott (Nicole) Reigel of Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren, Katie, Tammy, Alison, Jenna, John, Peyton, and Cole Reigel. He is further survived by his siblings, Lavern Reigel of Hazelhurst, Clifford (Johnette) Reigel of Marshfield, Clara (Roger) Hartl of Auburndale, William (Pat) Reigel of Marshfield, Lyle (Victoria) Reigel Jacksonville, FL, Carol (Edwin) Becker of Mosinee, Richard (Tessa) Reigel of Moses Lake, WA, Shirley (Clifford) Hirsch of Mosinee and Jim (Diane) Reigel of Marshfield; two sisters-in-law Kristine Reigel of Marshfield and Doris Reigel of Racine.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Gerald Reigel, and a sister-in-law Irma Reigel.

Memorials may be designated in Bob's name to either Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the House of The Dove.
