Winfred "Earl" Broadstock

Winfred "Earl" Broadstock passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014. He was born on May 15, 1929, to John and Parthenia Broadstock in Dardanelle, Arkansas. He was one of six children and grew up in Atwater after moving there with his family as a young boy. Earl served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War while also serving active duty in Japan and Germany. Throughout his 20 + years of military service he was issued numerous medals and commendations including a Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. After retiring from the U.S. Army as Sergeant First Class, he dedicated his time to his family.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer Broadstock and Harley Broadstock, and sisters, Letha Dixon and Sarah Jane Priest.
Earl leaves behind a daughter, Renee Chamberlain; son, Monte Anderson and wife Shelley; grandson, Brandon Chamberlain and wife Dominique; great-granddaughters, Isla Chamberlain and Yeardley Chamberlain; grandson, Sean Chamberlain and wife Amanda; brother, Farley Broadstock and family; nephews, Mike Dixon and Everett Dixon; nieces, Linda Coppedge and Eva Kinsey; numerous great nieces and nephews; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, January 27, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, followed by burial with full military honors.
Arrangements are under the direction of Whitton Family Funeral Service in Merced, CA.
