Dr. Aaron L. Goldman

Dr. Aaron L Goldman died peacefully after a long illness on Sept 5th. He was born in Chicago in 1938 to loving parents from Belarus. Aaron graduated from the City College of New York in 1959, and received a PhD in History from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1969. He taught in Greenland and in the Azores for the University of Maryland, Overseas Division. He was a Professor Emeritus in the History Department at San Jose State University, where he taught since 1967.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Koestenbaum; stepchildren Joshua, Wayne, Elissa and Ian, by his sister Vera Cooper and brother-in-law Dr. Alan Cooper, of New Rochelle, New York; by his former wife Roselle and daughter Rachel Jeanne, as well as nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, Sept 12th at the Home of Peace Cemetery, San Jose, CA. The family prefers contributions to the United Jewish Appeal, Amnesty International, or the Parkinson's Institute of Sunnyvale.
