Amiel (Aze) Louis Zanardi|
August 31, 1918 - February 8, 2014
Resident of Monte Sereno
Aze Zanardi passed away peacefully Saturday evening with his family beside him.
Aze was first generation born to Italian Immigrants Giuseppi and Louisa Zanardi in San Francisco, California. During his youth, he attended Bellermine College Preparatory where he excelled at the sports of baseball, boxing, and football. He left school to take over the family business, Green Valley Disposal, at 18. He was president of the company for 45 years.
Five days before his twenty second birthday he married the love of his life, Antoinette Zanardi, in 1940. They spent over seventy years together. Aze was a member of the Rotary Club for fifty years. Also a member of the Gustine Gun Club for over twenty years, Aze was an avid hunter. He coached the Los Gatos Little League as well. Perhaps his greatest passion was the time he would spend in his marvelous vegetable garden. Aze was happiest tending to his string beans that came directly from his father's village: Alpe, Italy.
Aze is reunited with his wife Antoinette who passed just eighteen days before he did. He leaves behind his two sons, Jim and Joe Zanardi and their families.
