Ann Prather, 95, of Millbrae died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the home of her nephew Stephen Brooks in San Bruno, CA.
Mrs. Prather was born June 15, 1917, in Douglas to an Arizona pioneer ranching family, Frank I. and Sara A. Dugan Krentz. She was raised in Douglas and attended schools and graduated from Douglas High School. She furthered her education at Arizona State University where she received her teachers credentials and taught 6 years in Arizona. In 1943, Ann married Pearn Gordon Prather. In 1947, Mrs. Prather and husband Pearn moved to California where she taught in the Millbrae Elementary School District for 30 years retiring as a first grade teacher at Meadows School in 1977 and became a world traveler. Pearn died in 1958 and was buried at the Golden Gate National Cemetery. Ann was also preceded by her seven sisters and three brothers.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, AARP and San Bruno Senior Center.
Mrs. Prather is survived by her cousin James Krentz of San Diego, CA and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Liturgy service fuollowed by inurnment will be held June 14, 2013 at Noon in the chapel at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
