Resident of Sunnyvale
On Sunday, March 31, 2013, Anthony Izzarelli finished his journey in this life and began a new life in heaven. He was at home with his daughters by his side. Anthony was 90 years young.
A lifelong resident of Sunnyvale, Anthony was sometimes affectionately called "Poody" by those who knew him best…..and were brave enough to address him as such. Just don't ever call him "Tony"!
Anthony was born on January 14, 1923 in San Jose, California. He attended Fremont High School in Sunnyvale before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1940, where he served during World War II. He also served as a Corporal in the United States Army Reserve from 1950 to 1953.
A widower since 1984, Anthony retired from Federal Pacific Electric in Milpitas as a machinist and was a member of the International Association of Machinists (IAM) for over 50 years. He was also a former Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Sunnyvale Chapter, where he met his long-time loving companion of 25 years, Barbara Wolff.
Anthony is survived by his daughters Jill Jackson of Sunnyvale and Michele Izzarelli of Stevensville, Montana, grandson Ryan Fossen of Sunnyvale, great-grandchildren Anthony and Kristina, son-in-law Sean K. Jackson, his brother Ralph Izzarelli of Santa Clara, and many nieces and nephews.
