Charles (Chuck) Raymond McGill. Devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather, veteran went on to be with the Lord while surrounded by family at 90 years of age. He was a man who was respected, lived his life with honesty, sincerity, laughs, and lots of love. Chuck was a devoted husband to his late wife Lyona for 62 years. Was often referred by many as "the Mayor of the block." Became a good friend to all he met. Sunnyvale resident since 1954. Always lended a helping hand to any and all. Enjoyed garage sales and restoring/repairing items and collectables. Member of the Masonic Lodge. Was very passionate about fishing and hunting. Loved sharing many many stories about his adventures in life. A proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Proud to have been a veteran and served his country in the US Navy for 20 years, retired in 1960. Worked for NASA/Ames research center for 17 years. Preceded him in death includes parents William Clarence McGill (father), Ruby Ann (mother), James Dale McGill (son), Richard Shannon McGill (son), Lyona Lolita McGill (wife).
Survived by Sandra Kay Rogers of Bremerton, WA., Douglas Ray McGill, Boulder Creek, CA., and Larry Kenton McGill, San Jose, CA. Always in a hearts until we reunite in heaven.
Service on Thursday August 1st at 12 noon at Spangler mortuary in Sunnyvale, burial service afterwards 3pm at Golden Gate Cemetery San Bruno. Reception to follow.
