Duane passed away peacefully at home after a valiant battle with cancer and Parkinson's Disease. He touched many lives with his great sense of humor and positive attitude.
Born in Chicago, Duane graduated from Maine East High School in Park Ridge Illinois, where he gained respect and admiration for his leadership qualities, athletic prowess and love of good times. Duane went on to University of Illinois where his creativity and artistic talent led him to study landscape architecture. After serving in the US Army he returned to Chicago where he met his future wife, Susan. They both took jobs near San Francisco and married shortly thereafter. Duane spent 30 years partnering to run a highly respected landscape contracting firm out of Cupertino, California.
He enjoyed travels with his family, skiing, boating, tennis and riding his quarterhorse "Bud". Duane is survived by his wife,Susan; daughter Jaime Poole( Jon); son Grant and sister, Carol Amerio.
