Frank L. Burrell, Jr. of San Francisco passed away on November 21st. He was born in San Jose on July 12, 1927 to Frank L. Burrell and Anne Dempsey Burrell.
He grew up in San Jose attending Bellarmine College Prep and San Jose State and was a graduate of University of Washington Pacific Coast School of Banking. He was vice president at Crocker National Bank and Bank of America before starting his own investment banking firm, Burrell Co in San Francisco.
He always had a very confident manner about him and lived life to the fullest with class. He built a beautiful home in San Francisco in 1966 and enjoyed the views of the bay. He loved the city life, dining out, traveling the world and staying at the best hotels, entertaining and spending time with family and friends. He was a loyal 49er fan and loved spending time at his home in Lake Tahoe.
He is survived by his sister Dr. Maryjane Ledyard of Santa Fe, New Mexico and children Frank Burrell of Monte Sereno, Peter Burrell of Santa Rosa and Katherine Burrell of Los Gatos. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Jackie Rogers, Patrick Johnson, Kaitlin Johnson, Victoria Johnson, Frank Burrell IV, Jessica Burrell and Ethan Burrell.
His great grandfather, Lyman Burrell, was one of the first settlers in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the 1850's and his father was instrumental in the forming of Food Machinery Corporation in San Jose in 1928.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Darling - Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 North Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 219 Bean Avenue, Los Gatos.
