Janice Rebecca Bullard|
May 3, 1920 - April 3, 2014
Gold River, previously of San Mateo, CA
A child of God, loving wife and helpmate, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, cherished fun loving friend to people of all ages, a gracious and gentle lady with a love and a zest for life, adventuresome traveler, a life-long learner with a sharp and curious mind, a reserved and quick wit.
Born in Albany, Oregon to Harold and Ines Hermansen, Janice was loved and admired by all who knew her. She chose to follow Jesus and became a Christian in her late teens. Later, she taught high school and after WWII married the man she always referred to as her 'precious husband' Alton.
They began their life together in St. Louis where Janice worked while Alton attended aeronautical school on the GI bill. They then moved to San Mateo where they lived until retirement, Alton from United Airlines, and Janice from the San Mateo Public Library.
Janice delighted in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will cherish her memory all of their lives. She leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Alton; her children, Lynette Hunt (Mark) and Brian (Sue) as well as 5 grandchildren now grown, Jason Hunt (Nikki), Ben Hunt (Lorie), Sarah Sabatino (Matthew), Ian (Melissa), and Corinne Snider (Jonathan). She also was blessed with seven great grandchildren: Madeline, Dominick and Rocco Sabatino, Catherine Hunt, Alexandra and Kaitlyn Bullard, and Claire Snider.
We will all miss her.
