Jason Herbert Van Den Bosch May 10, 1915 - Feb. 15, 2013 Resident of San Jose Jason, 97 passed with loving family present. Jason was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Born May 10, 1915 Brownsville Township, MI, he was one of 6 children. In 1934, he graduated from University High, Ann Arbor. He married his love, Evelyn Marie Larson, March 21, 1942 Detroit, MI. Jason served from 1941-1945 in the 698th Army Engineers Petroleum Distributors Unit in France during WWII. Jason earned the Medal of Good Conduct, American Defense Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal 4 Bronze Stars. Jason began as a journeyman plumber steamfitter in MI. In 1966, the family moved to San Jose until retirement. Active in the Elks Club of San Jose and American Legion of Boulder City, NV for 20 years. Returning to San Jose they settled in the Villages. January 2013 Jason was honored with a 60 year award by the Local Union #393. Jason is survived by his wife, Evelyn VanDenBosch of 71 years of marriage, and three children, Jayne Martin, Spokane,WA, Glenn VanDenBosch, San Jose, and Elise Hoover, Jackson; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Jason is also survived by sisters, Emilie Dubuy, Marcia Sonneman and Reba Hobson. Jason will be interned on May 9th at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon. May 10th, a Celebration of Life will be at the Villages Foothill Center. Pastor Unruh of The Villages Chapel will present the Eulogy, Army Honor Guard will play Taps, and family will honor Jason's 98th birthday with favorite BBQ and strawberry cake. Donations in lieu may be made in memory of Jason VanDenBosch to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
