Larry Reeder
Feb. 20, 1935 - Feb. 12, 2013
Resident of San Jose
Larry passed on peacefully February 12th after a courageous battle with cancer.
Larry was born in Lake City, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University. After serving in the US Air Force he went to work for Ansul Company in Menominee, Michigan. He was later transferred to California where he retired from Raychem Corporation in Menlo Park. After retiring he served as a consultant for companies in the Bay Area.
Larry and his wife Beverly raised their four daughters in San Jose, California. Summers were spent with family and friends at their summer cottage "The Ponderosa" in Sharon, Michigan where he enjoyed the beauty of nature and feeding his entourage of chipmunks.
He will always be remembered for his great wit, storytelling and sense of humor. He enjoyed reading, playing the piano, antique cars and airplanes. His cooking was legendary and he loved sharing his BBQ, award-winning chili and holiday fudge with family and friends.
Larry was a wonderful husband, amazing Dad and friend and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Blanche Reeder of Lake City, Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beverly, daughters Jennifer (Randy), Tracey (Danny), Beth (Anthony), Amy (Dean), grandchildren Amie and Mitchell, sister Jean Ann (Austin) and many nieces and nephews.
In respect to Larry's wishes there will be no services. He was a patriot and loved his country. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Larry's favorite charity Wounded Warriors at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
Raise your glass, cheers to Larry, "It's Five O'clock Somewhere".
