Mary McClure Brown passed away on March 21. Resident of Los Gatos CA since May, 2010, formerly of Deerfield, IL for forty years, and Sunnyvale for five.
Mary was born in Anderson, Indiana, and grew up in Indianapolis, the youngest of three children of Horace and Mary Jane McClure. She attended Indiana University where she met her husband William Reid Brown. They were married 44 years; Bill passed away in 1994.
Mary and Bill had two children. Bill Jr. is an attorney living in Menlo Park, CA. Nancy passed away in 2007.
Mary worked as a librarian and later in accounting at the Marriott Lincolnshire 1975-1990. Mary was active in Kappa Alpha Theta, Deerfield Townley Women's Club, and the First Presbyterian church.
Mary loved bridge, golf, reading, movies, theater, and dining and travel with friends and family.
Complications from Parkinson's ended Mary's life. She is survived by her sister Katharine, her son Bill Jr., his wife Donna, and grandchildren Russell and Rachel.
There will be memorial services at Los Gatos Meadows, 110 Wood Road, Los Gatos, on April 20, at 2 pm and at First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield, 824 Waukegan Rd., Deerfield, IL, on April 27, at 2 pm.
