Nicholas Crisafi Obituary
Nicholas Anthony Crisafi April 20, 1926 - October 19, 2013 Resident of Hillsborough Surrounded by family and friends, Nick Crisafi died peacefully in his Hillsborough home on October 19, 2013. He was 87. Born in San Francisco, Nick attended Horace Mann Middle School and Commerce High School. A self-starter by nature, he was briefly employed by the accounting firm of Hood and Strong before striking out on his own at twenty-one to form his own practice, Crisafi & Sciabica [now Crisafi, Pryor & Farquhar]. It wasn't long before Nick's trailblazing spirit steered him into real estate, where he discovered and developed his lifelong passion in residential, commercial and industrial property. Gifted with a helpful nature, Nick was also known for his generosity. As a young man he served as treasurer of the Men's Club at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church and was a member of the Elks Club. Later he joined the Peninsula Golf and Country Club and became an enthusiastic member of Kiwanis. Over his twenty-three years of service with Kiwanis Nick served as a board member and treasurer and also spearheaded the San Mateo Club Holiday Shopping Program for Children. In recognition of his exceptional loyalty and devotion, he was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award in 1995 and the Outstanding Service Award in 2010. Nick's keen curiosity led him to travel the world with his wife Stella. His adventurous spirit will be celebrated in the family he leaves behind: daughter Roselyn Crisafi Dumesnil, stepdaughter Victoria Powers-Cotchett, stepson Nicholas Powers, grandchildren Magdalyn Powers, Elisa Dumesnil, Peter Dumesnil, Elizabeth and Alexandra Crisafi, Quinn and Camilla Cotchett, and six great-grandchildren [Mia and Bennett Stillman, Jack, Joseph, Trey and Cash Dumesnil]. Nick is also survived by his son-in-law Paul Dumesnil, daughters-in-law Michelle Crisafi and Madeline Crisafi, sister-in-law Patty Crisafi, nieces Dana Walter and Monique Crisafi, brother-in-law Luke Langlois, Joe Cotchett, Alex Stillman, Anna Dumesnil, and Anna Crisafi, the mother of his children. Nick was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rose Crisafi, his son Anthony Crisafi, his wife of forty years Stella Crisafi, and most recently his brother Dan Crisafi. The family would like to thank Myrna Luna for her faithful years of service to Nick and his wife Stella. Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 1721 Hillside Drive, Burlingame, CA. Interment to follow at Greek Memorial Park, Colma, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nick's honor may be made to Kiwanis Club San Mateo Foundation, 63 Bovet Road #425, San Mateo, CA 94402. Please designate your gift to the K-Mart Shopping for Children Project.
