Peter Vincent Signorotti

Resident of Sunnyvale
Peter, age 90, was preceded in death by wife Betty of 48 years, brother Henry and sister-in-law Fay Sells. Survived by son David (Renee) Signorotti, daughter Marilyn (Jim) Butera, grandchildren Monica (Louis) Ionis, David (Daria) Signorotti, and Michael and Alicia Butera. Leaves behind great-grandchildren Aidan and Sarah Ionis, Tristan and Giada Signorotti, and sister-in-law Janet Hodgkinson.
Peter grew up in Santa Rosa, CA. He met his future wife by chance at a roller rink before serving two years in the Army during WWII. After the Army, Peter married Betty, graduated from Cal Berkeley in optometry, and began his optometric career in Santa Rosa. In 1953, Peter, Betty, and young son David moved to Sunnyvale. Peter was one of the first practicing optometrists in Sunnyvale, where he practiced 41 years before retiring in 1994.
Peter was a long-time member of Saint Cyprian Church and the Sunnyvale Host Lions Club. He volunteered at Our Daily Bread and enjoyed visiting with friends at the Sunnyvale Senior Lunch Program. He loved reading, sports, and traveling. He was a warm and gentle person who will be greatly missed by his family and the many others whose lives he touched. Peter's family is eternally grateful to Madera Villa Residential Care, Live Oak Adult Day Center and Hospice of the Valley for providing Peter with loving care in the final years of his life.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service and reception on Friday, May 2 at 11:00 am at Saint Martin Catholic Church, 593 Central Ave, Sunnyvale.
