Richard Acquistapace passed away peacefully on Saturday after a brave battle with Alzheimer's. His generous, loving, and outgoing spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Richard was born in San Jose, CA and graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory. Richard served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and enjoyed a 37 year career as an auto mechanic at Sears. He retired on Dec. 31, 1999 and spent many years enjoying his long-held passions of travel, bowling, and fishing.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Eileen, daughter Christina, son-in-law Tony, baby granddaughter Ainsley, and sister Joyce, all of San Jose, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation starting at 5pm and a vigil at 7:00 pm on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at Darling & Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 North Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos, as well as Funeral Mass on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 219 Bean Ave., Los Gatos. Interment to follow mass at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
