Musallam "Sam" Jaber passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Clara on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the age of 89.
Sam was born in Ramallah, Palestine and migrated to the United States in 1948. After serving in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer stationed at Camp Roberts during the Korean War, Sam entered into family life. Working as a successful businessman, he owned the old Spring St. Market in San Jose and later built and operated Plaza Deli during the early 1980's. In 1977, he settled his family in Santa Clara where he has lived ever since.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Najla; his sons David, Basim and Kenny; daughters Joy and Terri Hartsock; grandchildren Megan and Evan (Basim), Christian (David), Jack, Joe, and Gwendolyn (Terri); daughters-in-law Juli (Basim) and Julie (David).
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 1 at the Orthodox Church of the Redeemer, 380 Magdalena Avenue in Los Altos Hills. Burial will follow at Mission City Memorial Park in Santa Clara.
