Resident of Bend, OR
Samuel Angelo DeLeone, 83, passed away on October 21,2013 at his home from Congestive Heart Disease.
There will be a Rosary at 6:00 pm, November 5th and a Memorial Mass at 12:00 pm on November 6th at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 1720 NW 19th St, Redmond, OR 97756, (541) 923-3390.
Samuel was born in Abington, PA on July 5, 1930. He graduated from Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA and continued on to receive a BS from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Samuel served in the National Guard for 1 year before being called into service in the Army, in which he served active duty for 3 years in the Korean War as a Sergeant.
In 1971, Samuel founded D&D Associates, a manufacturer of pressure sensitive labels, which was incorporated in 1973 as The DeLeone Corporation. He was dedicated and passionate about supporting the Catholic Church, his community, people less fortunate all over the world. He also loved to travel around the world, especially to Italy where both his family and love of good food have roots.
Samuel DeLeone is survived by brothers Carmen and Francis (Pat) DeLeone; children Gina DeLeone, Connie (Kal) Whitney, Mike DeLeone, Sam DeLeone, Paul (Debra) DeLeone, Theresa (Rex) McGrath, Dominic (Nicky) DeLeone, and Danielle (Phil) Hebener, 16 grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Samuel DeLeone is preceded in death by parents Dominick and Rose DeLeone, sisters Mary and Anne, and brother John.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Redmond 732 SW 23rd, Redmond, OR 97756, (541) 548-7483, The family of Samuel DeLeone wishes to thank everyone of Hospice of Redmond for their compassionate care and guidance, and Home Instead also for care provided. Samuel's ashes will be laid to rest with military honors at Sunset Memorial Park in Somerton, Philadelphia, PA Spring 2014 following a second memorial service.
