Sharon Joyce Kolstad Obituary
Sharon Joyce Kolstad
Oct. 16, 1935 – July 13, 2014
Resident of Los Gatos
Sharon, 78 lost her fight for life on July 13, breaking all our hearts. Born on or about October 16, 1935, left on a doorstep near Milwaukee, WI and adopted by her loving parents Arthur & Florence Pipkorn, she brought light and laughter to everyone she met. A classy lady, always dressed to the nines, Sharon was truly cherished by all. She could make friends anywhere even in line at the store. Sharon moved to the south Bay Area 52 years ago, spent 34 years in Adercroft Heights and worked many years for Memorex and Atmel Corporations as an import/export manager. She was actively involved in volunteering for the Special Olympics and in her later years at her treasured church St. Luke's where she served on the Vestry and Altar Guild. One of her favorite pass times was her weekly Scrabble game at her long time hangout the Los Gatos Lodge with her favorite friends. She had four beloved children, James Arthur Todd, Howard Monroe Todd III, Mary Lynn Todd-LeVene and Rachel Ann Kolstad (Richard Allen). Gifted by her grandchildren, Howard Todd IV, Donald Todd, Tim Todd (Heather), Joel LeVene (father Brian LeVene) and Gabe Dale-Allen. She very much adored her 3 year old twin grandson's Avery and Elias Todd. Preceded to heaven by her parents, her son James, loving partner of 34 years Tammy McKerchie and her children's fathers, Howard Monroe Todd II and William Kolstad. Services Monday July 21, 2014 starting with a viewing at Darling-Fisher Chapel of The Hills 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos 9-11am, Celebration of Life at 12:00 noon at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, 20 University Avenue, Los Gatos and Internment at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos Almaden Road, San Jose with a reception to follow at Los Gatos Lodge 50 Los Gatos-Saratoga Road, Los Gatos. All who loved and will miss Sharon are welcome to attend and help give this remarkable woman her send off.
