Steven D. Moreno, Age 88, Went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2013. A veteran of World War II he proudly served his country as a surgical technician in the U.S. Army as a member of "The Big Red One" brigade. He was a decorated soldier and received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts for his heroism while in theater. He was present at the invasion of Normandy and served in major combat zones throughout Europe.
After re-locating to the Santa Clara Valley he worked at Tri State Plywood Co. and later retired from Westinghouse Corp. He was a hardworking man who always took pride in his work, he arrived to work at least 30 minutes early every day.
Steven is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Isabel Moreno. He is survived by his five children MaryLou (Joe) Ramos, Robert, Janie (Bobby) Gamboa, Elizabeth and Steven Jr., Nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and also preceded in death by great grandson Matthew.
Steven was a great storyteller with many wonderful stories of his childhood in Wasco CA. Papa will be truly be missed by all including his beloved dog Daisy Mae.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, August 29 from 2 - 9 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. at Darling-Fischer Chapel of the Hills.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 30 at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
