Thomas James Connelly

Thomas J. (Jim) Connelly of Cupertino was born in Montana and raised on a cattle ranch. He passed away at the age of 91. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy; son Tom and daughter-in-law Linda, their daughter Kristine and son Kyle, of Bellevue, WA; son Steven and daughter-in-law Allison, their son Kevin, of San Jose, CA; son Patrick and daughter-in-law Lisa, their sons James and Chris, of Ben Lomond, CA. He was pre-deceased by son Michael, who died in 1997 at the age of 43.
"Jim" served in the US Naval Air Force as a 2nd Class Aviation Machinist Mate. After
he attended Montana State University at Bozeman MT and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was retired from Del Monte Corporation where he had been Director of Engineering.
Jim was an avid reader, skier, sailer, and backpacker. After retiring he pursued a passion for painting and later for writing his memoires. Jim loved to tell stories, especially anything to do with Ireland. He recently became an Irish citizen.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at St. Joseph of Cupertino Church on Saturday, August 23rd at 1pm. His ashes will be scattered at sea. Should you wish, donations in Jim's name may be made to Sacred Heart Community Service, 1381 South 1st Street, San Jose, CA.
