Deonissios Pantelopoulos (Denny Pantel) died peacefully at his home in Chandler, Arizona on June 29th after a period of declining health. Denny was born July 31st, 1925 in Marlboro and was a lifelong Marlboro resident until relocating to Arizona in 2006. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17 upon graduation from Marlboro High School in 1942 and actively fought as a pointman in the infantry during World War II. Denny fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded a bronze star and purple heart. He attended Franklin Technical Institute in Boston and later graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He retired in 1987 from Kybe Corporation in Waltham after working in many of the local technology companies, including Raytheon and Sylvania. Denny is predeceased by his parents, Christos and Kostantina (Kalamara) and his sister Christine, and brother George, as well as his wife of 61 years Angelica Galanos (Kiki). He is survived by his daughters Connie in Chandler, Arizona and Maria in Arlington, Mass, son in law John LoSardo in Chandler, Arizona, and grandchildren Alex and Greg LoSardo and Sofia and Gabrielle Burgess. Denny was a lifelong member of Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church in Marlboro, the Ahepa Association and the Amerian Legion. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his friends and neighbors. Denny was a proud veteran and in his last months was known to say old soldier never die, they just fade away.
